What are cookies?

Like many other websites, www.bbva.fr (as well as the website bbvanetcash.com, which may use the customers and potential customers of BBVA's French branch) uses technology known as "cookies" to collect information about use of the website.

Any type of data storage and retrieval device used on a user's device (e.g. computer, cell phone or tablet) to store information and retrieve stored information.

The term cookies is used herein in its broadest sense, to include other similar technologies such as local shared objects or flash cookies, web beacons or bugs, etc. as well as the use of fingerprinting techniques, meaning the device's ability to digitally capture fingerprints.

 

What are cookies used for?

We use our own and third-party cookies for very different purposes, such as recognizing you as a customer, obtaining information on your products or interests, gathering usage measurements and statistics, customizing the content we show you or improving the range of products and services we offer.

The specific purposes of each cookie can be seen in the cookies list in the Settings Panel.

What are the types of cookie?

1. Based on the company that manages them:
 
● Internal cookies: These are cookies that are sent to the user's device from equipment or a domain managed by the publisher and from which the service requested by the user is provided.

● Third-party cookies: These cookies are sent to the user's device from equipment or a domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data gathered via the cookies. If cookies are installed from equipment or a domain managed by the publisher, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered internal cookies if the third party uses them for its own purposes, such as improving the services it offers or to provide, for example, advertising services on behalf of other entities.

2. Based on the purpose of the cookie:
 
● Technical cookies: These cookies allow users to browse through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services that it offers, including those that the publisher uses to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services, such as, for example, to control traffic and data communication, identify the session, access restricted access parts, record elements that make up an order, carry out the purchase process of an order, manage payment, control fraud linked to the security of the service, make a request for registration or participation in an event, count visits for the purpose of billing software licenses that the service works with (website, platform or application), use security elements during browsing, store content to play videos or sound, enable dynamic content (e.g. text or image loading animation) or share content through social networks.
 
● Preference or personalization cookies: Cookies that can remember information so that users may view the service with certain characteristics that may be different from other users, such as language, products that may interest the user, the service's content depending on the type of browser used to access the service or the region from which it is accessed, etc.  
 
● Analysis or measurement cookies: Cookies that allow their owner to monitor and analyze user behavior on the websites they are linked to, including quantification of the impact of advertising. Information gathered with this type of cookie is used to measure website, platform or application activity then make improvements based on this data.
 
● Behavioral advertising cookies: These are cookies that store information on user behavior gathered through the ongoing observation of their browsing habits. This makes it possible to develop a specific profile in order to display advertising based on this information.

3. Depending on their duration, cookies can be:
 
● Session cookies: These are a type of cookie designed to collect and store information while the user is accessing a website. They are normally used to store information which is only needed to provide the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of products purchased), and are deleted when the session ends.
 
● Persistent cookies: These are a type of cookie where the data is stored on the device and it can be accessed and processed for the period of time determined by the entity responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

How long are cookies kept?

Cookies will be used solely and exclusively for the time necessary to comply with the purposes indicated for each cookie. With regards to third-party cookies, the storage periods can be seen in the privacy policies of these third parties, as set out in the settings panel.

How do I manage my consent?

Please note that we will only use cookies on your device provided that you have given your consent through the access banner and the settings in the Settings Panel.

The above applies except in cases where cookies are needed for browsing on the device and/or for providing the service requested by the user (technical cookies). Technical cookies are exempt from the information and consent requirements contained in Article 22 of the LSSI (see definition of technical cookies).

The user may modify or revoke their consent at any time by adjusting the options in the Settings Panel. The user can access the Settings Panel at any time through the link at the start of this Cookies Policy.

However, even though we will store the choice made by the user for a maximum of 24 months, we will periodically ask you to verify your consent. Likewise, if after you give your consent, there is a change in cookies, in how they are used or in the third-party cookie providers, we will request your consent again.

For those third-party cookies, keep in mind that the revocation process is managed and controlled exclusively by each service provider. You can delete them from the browser options or from the system offered by the third party itself. Check the links provided for this purpose in the Settings Panel.

In any case, the user can, at any time, allow, block or delete cookies and delete all their browsing information (including cookies) from the browser installed on their device. Check the options and instructions offered by your browser for this:

Disabling all cookies does not prevent browsing through the service.
